Lighthouse Excursions

Lighthouse Excursions is a locally-owned and operated tour company that provides a scenic boat tour – the Lighthouse, Totems, and Eagles Excursion – to view Ketchikan’s abundant American bald eagles, the totem poles of Totem Bight State Park and the historic Guard Island Lighthouse. While cruising the coastline of the Tongass National Forest, the world’s largest temperate rainforest, our experienced local captain and their crew will share their knowledge of Southeast Alaska’s coastal history, native culture, and the interconnected ecosystems and the animals that call this region home. Whether relaxing in the heated main cabin or enjoying the open-air observation deck of the boat, we encourage visitors to keep on the lookout for American bald eagles, harbor seals, sea lions, moon jellyfish, pigeon guillemots, blue heron, deer, whales, and other wildlife. A complimentary snack buffet and non-alcoholic beverages are included in our tour!

Lighthouse Excursions is dedicated to sustainable tourism practices. Be it guest-direct (like promoting safe and respectful wildlife viewing or providing recycling receptacles on board our vessels) or behind-the scenes (like employee education or investing in environmentally-friendly vessel upgrades), we love our Alaskan wilderness and proudly support an environmental ethic which will preserve our state for generations to come.

Alaska Wildland Adventures

Alaska is our home, and we’ve been committed to providing the highest quality trips from the beginning, over 40 years ago. We were among the first to offer raft explorations of the Kenai River into the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, and we pioneered small-group explorations from the protected areas of Kenai Fjords National Park and the Kenai Peninsula to Denali National Park and Preserve. We know all the areas we visit intimately. Today, we are proud to continue this tradition as Alaska’s leader in soft adventure trips. We believe smaller groups mean bigger experiences, better memories and more smiles.

Allen Marine Tours

The best way to experience Southeast Alaska’s majestic scenery, amazing wildlife, Native history, and frontier lifestyle is on the water. Almost every feature of this vast coastal wilderness is shaped by water and ice. And almost every community – of both animals and man – is nourished by the bounty of the sea. In this paradise of countless islands, the surest formula for having the adventure of a lifetime is to just add water! Allen Marine Tours is a family-owned company based in Sitka that has been conducting day-cruises for Alaska’s visitors since 1970. Three generations of the Allen family are active in the company. With a fleet of over 25 vessels – and operations based in Juneau, Ketchikan and Sitka – we are the largest and most experienced day-cruise company in Alaska.

All of the vessels we operate were built by us in our Sitka shipyard. Catamarans dominate our fleet. The superior speed, maneuverability and stability of their twin-hull design is perfect for Alaskan waters. Our many years of sightseeing experience are evident in each vessel we design and build. Our highest priorities are safety, comfort, panoramic viewing, and exceeding your expectations.

Bear Paw Adventure

Bear Paw Adventure’s four uniquely Alaska log vacation homes are situated on an original Alaska homestead site on the west side of the Kenai Peninsula near historic Anchor Point. The property has been kept as natural as possible providing habitat for wildlife such as moose and eagles that will be seen among the spruce, alders, willows and wildflowers. The buildings have been constructed primarily using simple hand tools from beetle-killed spruce taken off the property or nearby forests. Guests will enjoy the craftsmanship used in joining the logs and the unique log stairways, handrails and hand carvings. Be prepared to enjoy a sample of real Alaska with the comfort of warm and cozy energy-efficient heating, modern appliances, leather furniture and generous supplies. Located away from the busy commercial tourism centers, this is the place to get close to nature and enjoy real Alaska. Restaurants, shops, tour agencies and activities are just minutes away. Free on-site activities include wildlife viewing, horseshoes, beach volley ball, badminton, lawn croquet, miniature disc golf and picnicking. Bear Paw also provides free adventure planning and booking assistance for lodging guests and offers a variety of packages that can be customized to your interests.

Custom Alaska Cruises

Join us aboard our custom 70 foot expedition cruise vessel or our 100 ft private yacht, each vessel with four private guest suites, ensuite bathrooms for each stateroom, first class chef and full staff to meet all your needs. Experience Alaska in luxury. Kayaking, whale watching, glacier viewing, fishing, and many more enticing expeditions.

The Sikumi was custom built expressly for service in Alaska by one of the Northwest’s most renowned ship builders, and while finished for luxury, it was built tough. From the panoramic views at the galley table to the fully covered upper viewing deck, nothing was spared in creating a comfortable environment for our guests.

Motor yacht (M/Y) Golden Eagle, was added to our fleet in 2017. Built by Broward in the United States, the Golden Eagle was designed with luxury and sophistication in mind. With a spacious main salon and dining area there is no doubt our guests will find comfort while cruising through deep fjords and secluded coves. There are multiple covered outdoor seating areas to enjoy the breathtaking scenery and wildlife in Southeast Alaska.

A typical cruise will only have 8 adults onboard, and possibly some young sailors (we do offer adult only cruises as well). If you would like to bring up to 12 guests, you can charter the entire boat for the week. The highest crew to guest ratio, (5 crew to 8 guests) we are able to offer first class service, while truly experiencing Alaska. Our Alaska based captain will show you the real wilderness of Alaska.
Our Custom Alaska Cruises not only feature spectacular wildlife and scenery viewing, but we may be best known for our cuisine. Our on board 5 star professional chef will prepare one culinary delight after another for you, showcasing Alaska Seafood, catering to any special food needs, diets or allergies.

Discovery Voyages

Discovery Voyages is one of Alaska’s oldest and most respected eco-tour operators. Dean Rand, captain and owner of Discovery Voyages, offers week-long natural history, hiking, photography, kayaking, and outdoor education tours in the fjords and wilderness waters of Prince William Sound.

During the past 15 years, Dean and his staff have become increasingly concerned about the melting of glacial ice, the introduction of never-before-seen pathogens in shellfish, and the loss of critical wildlife habitat–all due to global warming. At the same time, they recognize that wilderness cruises, by their very nature, require the consumption of some fossil fuel and the addition of greenhouses gases into the atmosphere.

As a result, Discovery Voyages has looked at its own actions and sought to take responsibility by being as energy efficient as possible. In addition, it has partnered with Native Energy to offset its carbon use and to give passengers the opportunity to contribute to the carbon offset program and promote energy independence and clean emissions.
