Tucked amid the Chugach Mountains on Alaska’s southcentral coast, Alyeska Resort is the place to discover the wilderness and expansive beauty of the Last Frontier. Located just 40 miles from Anchorage and the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, Alyeska Resort is your base camp for summer and winter excursions. The resort is near three national parks and the Kenai Peninsula, and surrounded by the Chugach Mountains. Alyeska Resort stands out during ski season with close to 669” of average snowfall annually and the longest continuous double black diamond ski run in North America.
Chugach Adventures (formerly known as Chugach Adventure Guides and Class V Whitewater) was founded in 1996. The company explored & pioneered the Spencer Glacier area in 2000 and partnered with the Alaska Railroad starting in 2001 to offer trips via the Glacier Discovery Train to Spencer Glacier.
In the Fall of 2012, long-time Chugach guides and Girdwood locals, Melanee and Ari Stiassny, purchased the rafting business. Melanee & Ari share a passion for Alaskan adventure with their three kids. In winter 2015 /16, Chugach Adventures was awarded a ten year permit with the USFS Chugach National Forest to continue operating tours at Spencer Lake and are stoked to be now offering kayaking, overnight camping, heli hiking, and glacier salmon bakes at Spencer Glacier.
“We believe strongly in sharing our local stories and firsthand experiences of what we have seen and witnessed as Spencer Glacier has receded thru the years. We are committed to finding ways to protect our environment and aim to share our knowledge to our guests.”
Get Lost…Be Found.
Get Lost Travel Vans is a smaller, affordable alternative to the traditional Alaska RV rental. A camper van is the perfect way to see Alaska! It’s easy to drive, simple to set up, and fun to get around in. Our camper vans are converted minivans, carrying almost all the comforts of home but without the price tag or the giant vehicle to go with them. The camper vans come with kitchenettes in the rear of the van that include a fridge, two-burner stove, and sink with running water. Inside the van, the seating area converts into a table with benches or into a double bed, with extra storage found underneath. The rooftop tent pops open to reveal a double bed with sleeping area for two. All of our van rentals include linens, kitchen implements, and unlimited mileage! It looks like a regular minivan on the outside, but inside, it’s your home away from home.
