Kayak Adventures Worldwide’s company culture is deeply rooted in their personal core values & desire to protect the natural world. They believe their business profit is secondary to: the safety & education of their guests, the health of the wilderness environment they explore & the health and safety of the wildlife they visit. As the only kayaking company in all of Alaska to join 1% for the Planet, Kayak Adventures commits at least 1% of their annual sales to nonprofit organizations working to address pressing environmental issues in Alaska. They have donated over $40,000 in the past 5 years. Through their educational & environmentally focused tours, they hope to inspire guests to join them in reclaiming an active stewardship of the natural world. Kayak Adventures runs the most extensive guide training (over one month) in the area, and all guides have extensive local knowledge regarding glaciation, flora & fauna, native history, geology, climate change and more! This extensive training allows guides to connect guests to the areas they explore & educate them on how they can continue to help protect these wild, fragile areas. Kayak Adventures was the first kayaking company in Alaska to join WhaleSENSE, a NOAA run voluntary education, recognition & conservation program for whale watching companies concerned with responsible viewing practices, ocean stewardship & education. Kayak Adventures is proud to use their business to give back to Alaskan nonprofits, support the local community, and inspire their guests through educational kayaking tours. They work hard to expand their environmental stewardship efforts so they can help continue to protect the places & wildlife they visit each summer.
