Expeditions Alaska

We move slow on purpose. Foot travel, paddles, small groups in country that doesn’t need help being big. The Wrangells and Chugach aren’t a backdrop, they’re the whole reason we exist. Protecting them is just keeping the lights on. AGA’s criteria line up with how we already run trips.

Expeditions Alaska runs backpacking, packrafting, and kayaking trips in the Wrangell-St. Elias, the Arctic, and quieter pockets of Southeast. We travel under our own power. Groups stay small because the country is big and we’d like to keep it feeling that way.

We hire Alaska guides. We work with the air taxi pilots and lodges who live here year-round. The valleys we walked into twenty years ago are the same valleys we walk into now. We’d like that to still be true in another twenty. AGA’s standards match the way the company already operates.

Tundra Travels

Tundra Travels trips are multi-day, backpacking expeditions through remote Alaska. We travel over rugged, trail-less terrain, carrying what we need with us, making the wilderness our home day after day. We also enjoy freshly brewed coffee, delicious camp food and the inevitable camaraderie that comes from facing challenges together.
